“We Like to Dive Right In” History Walk
August 3 – October 30
Explore the outdoor display and discover shipwrecks in Wisconsin waters.
Did you know there are more than 700 shipwrecks in Wisconsin waters? Shipwrecks are a key resource for learning about our maritime history. Though written documents provide much information about the past, they cannot tell the full story. Dive in and explore how underwater archaeologists uncover, document, and preserve this lost history.

Note: For hours, admission, and pricing, please contact the hosting venue. The display will be set up along the Riverwalk at the museum. This program is sponsored by Wisconsin Maritime Museum and Visit Manitowoc.
The Wisconsin History Makers Tour will bring history directly to local communities in every region of the state through pop-up exhibits, object displays, public programs, outdoor installations, and other activities.
The History Makers Tour is presented by Culver’s and is made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Grant Number: MA-253159-OMS-23.
